I am home sick and ordered 2 large chicken soups to last me. I had never had chicken soup from this location before. The soup was healing in a bowl. I knew a man had made that soup. I called the location to tell the chef how much I enjoyed his soup. It was prepared by Oral. Told him I’d marry him sight unseen on the strength of his chicken soup. Just the right balance of everything. Absolutely delicious and beneficial! I can hardly wait for the next serving!

If you want the best tasting Jamaican food in New York City, then this is the place to go! All the 5 star reviews are well deserved. Not all golden crust locations are equal. This one is the best of the best. All your Jamaican favorites are here. Hands down the best Jamaican breakfast. Their ackee and salt fish is the truth. And the porridge. Omg! Delicious. Tasty, tasty, tasty.

In response to the president’s Trump tariffs, I decided to enjoy my third Ackee and Saltfish breakfast in a week while prices remained reasonable. I observed that many restaurants have removed Ackee from their menus, likely because of rising import taxes. When I visited Golden Krust, I used their self-service kiosk to place my order, where I was prompted to choose between takeaway or dining in. I opted for the dine-in option. However, after paying, I realized there was no seating available since all the seats had been removed since my last visit some time ago. After receiving my order, I found a wooden stool across the street and ate my meal there. The dish wasn’t as flavorful as the two Ackee meals I had earlier in the week at other restaurants. The Golden Krust version was somewhat bland and less spicy. I suspect this is because they cater to a more diverse customer base compared to the more traditional Jamaican eateries. Nevertheless, I enjoyed my meal, although eating on the sidewalk was neither comfortable nor pleasant. Summary I believe that a small seating area by the main window would be sufficient for most customers like myself who prefer a quick dine-in experience.

This is a relatively new store. The layout is much better than other stores I’ve been to, but the lines get long due to how complicated some orders are. The guy at the cash register was new (or incompetent) and that caused a long line. The choices were somewhat limited. I would call ahead to see what they have before heading over to the store. Try their patties.

Came here after 6 pm, and it was busy. They have all their cooked food on display. The prices definitely increase. It is located in a corner of the street. I got 2 spicy beef patties for $3.29 each and a red velvet cake for $5.99. The patties were krispy. The cake had cream cheese icing with nuts. I asked the cashier if the icing was vanilla or cream chesse. She informed me of the incorrect answer (vanilla).
